 Sparrows Confident

CREDIT Corporation Sparrows are confident of beating Veupunama in the Port Moresby Netball Association premier division at Bisini courts on Saturday.

The minor premiers and reigning champions Sparrows have the wealth of experience in former internationals in Kilala Owen, Jacklyn Lahari and Neritha Adula to set the pace in attacking and defend strongly with the rest of the unit. They are the trio to mastermind the pack to perform from the first centre pass. Head coach Julianne Leka has gone back to the drawing board this week and during training has polished up on their weaknesses especially in defence and to cutdown on silly errors that caused them the game against Enviro Telstars 42-35. Veupunama have come a long way and head coach Margaret Opina is also confident of pulling up an upset against the current champions. But they have to defend over time and extra hard to frustrate the opposition fast flowing offense.

The winner will meet Telstars in the grand final showdown next week. While the loser bows out of the premiership race for 2024.

Credit Corporation Sparrows Jacklyn Lahari and Enviro Telstars Philomena Naime looks at this pass in POMNA major semi finals at Rita Flynn courts. Telstars upset Sparrows 42- 35.
