Emotional moment for Telstars in POMNA
IT was an emotional moment for Enviro Telstars premier division with legend Veitu Diro and young coach Monalisa Leka team to book the first grand berth in Port Moresby Netball Association competition.
This is 40 plus appearance in the POMNA grand final as surviving player and veteran Diro confirmed after the 42- 35 win over minor premiers and defending champions Credit Corporation Sparrows.
Sparrows are up against Veupunama in the preliminary finals this Saturday with the winner to face Telstars in the grand showdown next week. The loser bows out of the premiership race.
From Leka’s era former PNG Pepes Raka Nope at goal shooting and Boio Peter goal attack contributed vital points with the support from Eva Aua. It was also the tireless performance in the mid court that frustrated Sparrows defence time and again.
