SP PNG Hunters players during during training at the Santos Football Stadium this week
SP PNG Hunters need to win their remaining two matches in order to make the top eight cut mark in the Hostplus Cup.
Hunters are currently on the seventh spot and really needed to beat Brisbane Tigers in round 22 this weekend and the following final outing against Western Clydesdales at home Santos National Football Stadium.
This is must win situation and against Tigers, Hunters need to work overtime and extra hard on their defense to unsettle the visitors.
In the attacking they have to be smart and do the right thing from the kick off and avoid silly errors that may cause them the game.
The home team bounced back after two frustrating loses beating Tweed Heads Seagulls 42- 30 to regain confidence heading into the two important competition points.
The vocal home ground is always an advantage to Hunters to win at all costs that visiting teams have found the going tough in Port Moresby.
It’s always great for the home team to play at the Santos National Football Stadium and perform to the best of their abilities as the locals are very critical and vocal about losing matches.
That is why the players have an obligation and desire to win.
Coach Paul Aiton is caution about the niggling injuries sustained against Seagulls with light training on Tuesday morning.
After last weekend’s win the team morale and confidence is high.
